My ambition, from the time I was a youth, was to be a writer. From the time I read The Exorcist by William Peter Blatty in 1975, I was hooked. My 7th grade Language Arts teacher turned me on to Edgar Allan Poe and by 8th grade, I had read all of Poe's works and began writing my own short stories.
I wrote several short stories in my early adulthood that were published; that led to me publishing the horror fiction newsletter THE RAVEN, taking submissions from other writers across the country. In 1995 I accomplished my dream of becoming a published author with the horror fiction novel , THE REVELATION.
However, at the same time my business The Varsity Sports Journal was beginning to take wings and with the explosion of the internet,SCVARSITY.COM became a thriving business, for which I am very thankful.
Last year, as I approached another birthday in a year in which I saw several of my close friends buried, I decided to re-launch my writing career and, again, chase that ambition/dream. I have several manuscripts that I have worked on over the years but never gave them their deserved attention.
My plan is to devote some attention to those writings and have them published.
This blog will be devoted to some of my writings that I have no intention of publishing, as well as excerpts of those things that I intend on pushing to publication.
I hope that I will have your support and encouragement with this project. The support I've had with SCVarsity from you has been vital to the success of that business. To me, the relationships are the most important part of life and business and success is predicated upon the encouragement of those relationships.
